The book “Ownership in a modern market economy: Theoretical framework, international practice, and recommendations for Vietnam ” is the result of a national scientific project conducted by the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.

The book consists of 3 chapters:

Chapter 1: Theoretical framework and international practices of ownership in a modern market economy. This chapter summarizes a theoretical framework of ownership and ownership in the market economy specifically; international practices of ownership in a modern market economy.

Chapter 2: Ownership in the development of a modern market economy in Vietnam. The followings are main points of this chapter: (1) A summary of current debates on ownership in Vietnam. (2) Reforms of ownership in Vietnam over different National Congresses. (3) Current situation of Vietnam’s ownership over 30-year-reform. (4) Comparision between ownership institutions in Vietnam and other market economies around the world.

Chapter 3: Background, orientation, and recommendations for improving ownership in Vietnam. The following topics are covered in this chapter: (1) Ownership in Vietnam. (2) Orientation for the improvement of ownership in Vietnam. (3) Recommendations for the improvement of ownership in Vietnam.

The book “Public administration reforms in some Asian countries and lessons learnt for Vietnam” is the result of a national scientific project conducted by the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Vietnam  Academy of Social Sciences. The book was published by Social Sciences Publishing House in February 2018.

The book consists of 3 chapters:

Chapter 1: Theoretical framework of public administration in some countries. This chapter analyzes the theoretical  and practical basis of public administration reforms in some countries around the world , particularly in Asia.

Chapter 2: Public administration reform policies in some Asian countries. This chapter focuses on administrative reform policies in China, Malaysia and Japan.

Chapter 3: Lessons learnt for Vietnam. This chapter summarizes the process of public administration reforms in Vietnam over the 2001-2010 period, introduces the state administrative reform master program for the 2011-2020 period, and initial results of the public administration reforms for the 2011-2016 period…

On the basis of clarifying and establishing the theoretical framework, the author seeks to analyze the case study of South Korea in attracting qualified Korean diasporas to develop science and technology for each period. It aims to analyze and evaluate the situation of attracting qualified Korean diasporas to develop science and technology while making clear of the context and practical conditions of Vietnam at present, and especially comparing the main similarities and differences between Vietnam and South Korea. The book has discovered that South Korea, with a string of sound policies to attract qualified Korean diasporas that were developed in line with the specific context and practical conditions of each development stage, along with the country’s robust socio-economic institutions, successfully exploited its potentials and advantages on both national and international scales, thereby turning the initial human capital outflow of brain drain into a highly-skilled workforce, in particular human resources in science and technology, to serve the development process of the country, and helping South Korea quickly become a developed and prosperous nation based on science and technology innovations.

This book consists of  three chapters:

Chapter 2: Korea’s experience in attracting highly qualified expatriates for science and technology development.

The world is standing at the threshold of the fourth industrial revolution which is based on the significant development of science and technology, specifically digital technology. The fourth industrial revolution differs from the previous ones in terms of both speed and scope, which has rapidly and considerably transformed many aspects of production, business, cultural and social life, national defense and security.
